Iam using 75w-80 gear oil can i use a more heavier oil in hot climate?

Peugeot say 75w-80 esso gear oil and i'm using it in my gearbox, but i live in a very hot climate and i think 75w-80 is a light oil and can't handle this hot conditions...can i use a heavier oil for example 85w-90?or there is no relation between the hot conditions i live in and the gear oil?Iam using 75w-80 gear oil can i use a more heavier oil in hot climate?
in newer cars you have to stick to weights described by the manufacture,

because thicker oils cant get thru the system, and things burn up.....call the dealer, an ask.........Iam using 75w-80 gear oil can i use a more heavier oil in hot climate?
It's all in how the viscosity stands up under the conditions.

I would just take their word for it.
