If someone is selling ';syncromesh specific'; gear oil, it is a marketing ploy. Weights %26amp; GL ratings are all that matter for transmissions. Posi-trac differentials require a ';posi-trac'; rating [it has an additive for the clutch pack].Do you have have to use sycromesh specific gear oil in a manual transmission or can use you use just gear oil?
Check with the manual. Hondas (and Acuras) use ENGINE oil.
