Gear oil in GE top load washing machine?

Somehow gear oil is in our GE top load washing machine, it's about 4 years old.

How expensive is this repair?Gear oil in GE top load washing machine?
Yes, the upper seal is leaking, likely because the bearing is worn out.

It requires a new transmission. Rebuilt ones are available but with labor, a new boot, belts, and other parts I agree you get closer to the cost of a new machine.

Sorry.Gear oil in GE top load washing machine?
It happen to me and the technician says that the trans seal is broke and its better buy a new one than try to repair.
the transmission seal is leaking. to have it fixed would probably cost about half the cost as a new machine.
