Do you fill a caterpillar differential with gear oil in the same hole as the level check?

If the hole is in the side of the differential, that's where you fill it. A gear oil pump is the easy way, but I'm assuming you don't have one of those or you wouldn't be asking. Gear oil comes in plastic bottles with a spout on it. Stick the spout in the hole and squeeze the bottle. If you have bulk oil like a 5 gallon bucket, either buy a 1 quart bottle and re use the bottle, or use a 20 oz pop bottle. It's messy and you will lose some oil, but sometimes ya just gotta do what ya gotta do. Fill it till it runs out the hole.

If it has a dip stick, you can fill it through the dip stick hole with a transmission funnel.Do you fill a caterpillar differential with gear oil in the same hole as the level check?
get a piece of clear hose that will fit the hole and fill it threw the hose.
