Is it possible to add too much gear oil to a rear end diffirential that has a fill plug?

Wouldnt the extra just overflow? if it is possible what would happen to the diffirential? Is it possible to add too much gear oil to a rear end diffirential that has a fill plug?
No. The fill plug is at the correct level needed. If there is too much, it simply flows out until level with the plug.Is it possible to add too much gear oil to a rear end diffirential that has a fill plug?
You will know when it is over filled when the oil starts to come out of the hole.
yes, it is possible to over fill. Overfill happen when fill plug is placed back in when oil is still pouring out. Overfill isnt good cuz breather valve wont' work correctly.
No, the fill plug is the level control.
It's full when the oil starts to run out over the threads for the plug. So actually, it's hard if not impossible to overfill.
