How can you tell if your gear oil is full.i dont see a drop in it.the see through wind is dirty.?

how to tell if the gear oil is full.i cant see in the hole to find anything.it seems to shift kind of hard and the gears seem to grind when i put it in first.could it be my clutch cable too!How can you tell if your gear oil is full.i dont see a drop in it.the see through wind is dirty.?
Don't be afraid to get your fingers dirty! Stick your finger in the oil hole! You should be able to touch into the oil! I will agree if she's grinding that probably is the clutch cable. How can you tell if your gear oil is full.i dont see a drop in it.the see through wind is dirty.?
the gear oil should be level with the bottom of the fill hole. fill it until it dribbles out the hole and its full.
Don't rely on the sight glass. Open the fill plug, which on many bikes has a small dipstick attached to it. Take a read off the stick. If there's no stick, take a small screwdriver and check the level that way. Look down the hole, if you don't see oil, there's a problem.
