I have a ford 3/4 ton dana 60 on a 1979 f250. Its blowing oil like mad from where the yoke meets the houseing. Do I need new bearings and piston? or can i just replace the oil seal?Blowing gear oil on a 1979 dana 60... what to do?
Prob needs a new pinion bearing is why the seal went out. I would replace both and till then check to make sure the dif vent is not obstructed, that would make you lose more oil through that seal.Blowing gear oil on a 1979 dana 60... what to do?
You prob can just replace the seal if the gears arent making noice
There is no piston in a rearend. Your seal is shot and probably the bearing too.
