First learn what the company Jiffy Lube does and use them

Second take a basic automotive maint course before ever trying to work on your own car again or you will cost yourself a lot more money than you think you are saving.

Everyone who wants to work on their own car learns one way or another. the expensive way is trial and error, the cheaper way is a course.I have a ford ranger i changed the oil and filled it back up with 80/90 gear oil i dont know how to work on?
Get rid of this oil!!!!!

It is not made to run in an engine.

Change your oil and filter immediately!!

Change it again after a weeks driving.
if you put it in for engine oil, get it out! gasoline in oil will cause sludge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DO NOT DRIVE IT UNTIL YOU REMOVE IT.

AND GET RID OF THAT BUDDY, HE DOES NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT ENGINES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You should probably insure your ford ranger for fire.
Change your oil before you drive it again. Use 10W30 oil. Drive it about 500 miles and change your oil again. Use 5W30 For the second oil change. Change the oil filter both times. Finally Change oil and filter after 3000 miles Use 5W30 substitute last quart with Lucas Oil engine treatment and you should be good. I have gotten over 400,000 miles on a 1988 ford ranger p/u using 5W30 plus Lucas every 3500 - 4500 miles, without any major repair problems.
Drain the oil change the filter and refill with the right oil and run it awhile and do what i just said a 2nd time
